A Part of Toronto's
History & Future
Originally constructed as a bottling factory in the early 1900s and later used by the Diament Knitting Mill, i-Zone Lofts at 326 Carlaw Avenue and 1173 Dundas Street East is rich in Toronto’s industrial heritage. In 2001, Atria Development transformed this 160,000 sq. ft. building into one of Leslieville’s first hard loft conversions, sparking a wave of similar industrial-style projects that helped revitalize the neighbourhood. Atria further contributed to Leslieville’s transformation in 2008 with the redevelopment of the Garment Factory Lofts, adding more authentic loft spaces to the area’s landscape.
This pioneering conversion preserved i-Zone’s authentic industrial features, including original brick walls, exposed beams, and towering ceilings—some reaching up to 30 feet. Many units incorporate mezzanine levels that utilize the height of these spaces, with skylights and large windows flooding the lofts with natural light. This blend of history and functionality makes i-Zone a landmark in Leslieville and an icon among Toronto lofts.
The building’s transformation brought a creative community to Leslieville, inspiring artists, tech professionals, and entrepreneurs to make i-Zone their home. Today, residents enjoy the building’s authentic industrial atmosphere, enhanced by modern amenities, making it the perfect blend of historic charm and contemporary convenience.
